About the written exam
This component used to be held on the first day and was followed by seen cases (4 complete case history presentations as per new regulations) later that day. It used to be if you fail this exam- God forbids- you would have to pay full fees and sit for the exam again where you will have to repeat all other components, with the exception of your seen cases.
As of January 2020, the written paper was separated from the rest of the components and was subdivided into 2 sessions, each session is 90 questions and is 2-hours-long.
The pass mark is 62%.
The exam could be paper based or computer based.
If it is a paper examination, you will be given 3 things:
- Question booklet: the exam questions color printed on A4 paper, stapled together (don't panic this will be thick due to the size of the font and the many Qs with photos). It could reach 70 pages or more!
- Answer sheet: to mark your answers using a pencil
- A pencil
